And thanks GSDavis and Erda for reading and commenting.

The Murray quiz is so obviously skewed towards "real Uhmurricans" (love that!) it's hard to understand how people think it means anything. Except I guess they think "real" means "NASCAR/Avon."

Comment on The REAL "Bubble Test"

Another Pandagonian. Given my experience, I'd have to also say this was the more accurate of the two "bubble" quizzes. Most of my "yes" votes on the Murray one came from my childhood in a conservative, upper-middle-class suburb in Michigan, but I was actually extremely sheltered then and it showed when I moved to inner-city Baltimore for college. Living in "Harm City," along with the fact that starting college coincided with my mom losing her job and having to take a much lower-paying one, popped my bubble pretty quickly! No, really, Murray, how "sheltered" you are is not about how many "real Uhmurrican" white people you know. Oftentimes, it's about the exact opposite. My friends who stayed in my hometown are overall, much more sheltered than most of my friends who got out, especially those who, like me, moved to big cities. I see it in my sister, who decided to expand her bubble by going to a lily-white, small-town conservative Christian college, and the way she acts when she visits me in Baltimore.

Comment on The REAL "Bubble Test"

Pandagon refugee here. Thanks for this; I of course scored even lower on this quiz, but at least it's an actual measure of my bubble & not just of my freakishness. LOL.

Comment on OWS for men?

Hahaha, Phoenix. Because we haven't been told to shut up and shut down when we speak out and intend to be heard. Hahahaha.

One meeting out of dozens or even hundreds. Yeah, that's threatening men's freedom to be the center of everything and needs to be crushed immediately.

Comment on When Blogospheres Collide -- Feminism vs. MRA/MGTOW/PUA

Polylogist_innit, I'm not speaking for an entire class of people. Amazing how you can speak for an entire class of people. A class to which you don't belong, and therefore, using the logic inherent in your own ideology, cannot possibly understand.

Comment on So Long Christopher Hitchens

Marina, I think you're right that he was heroic. I think we have lost a man of great courage, a courtly knight errant who quested for the truth.
Unless one had tunnel vision one couldnt miss his humanity and his desire to liberate you from accepted 'truths', even if you disagreed with him.

He was one of very few men I thought genuinely heroic.

Comment on Who mugged Chris Hitchens?

It is unfortunate that many people do believe "the enemy of my enemy is my friend."
